NOTE: "Issa, in a July 7 letter to the TCA, came out against potential 241 alignments being opposed by San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Mission Viejo and Ladera Ranch. Issa said those routes would divide communities, risk destroying community character and threaten added congestion on key thoroughfares."

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-Vista) is urging the California Transportation Corridor Agencies to reject all of the currently proposed routes to extend the 241 toll road through South Orange County.

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-Vista) today introduced legislation to preserve nursing home care for thousands of disabled veterans nationwide. Without reauthorization, a Department of Veterans Affairs program which provides coverage for nursing home care to veterans with a 70-percent or higher disability rating will expire at the end of this year on December 31, 2017.

Happy Independence Day! It was a privilege for me to celebrate the 4th of July with the people of Oceanside in this year's parade and by welcoming all of the new American citizens who took the Oath of Naturalization aboard the USS Midway earlier this week.  It was inspiring to see so much love for our great nation and the freedoms so many have given their lives to protect.
