WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48), Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32), a senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee introduced H.R. 1848, the Houthi Human Rights Accountability Act. They were joined by Congressmen Mike Lawler (NY-17), Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, Brad Schnieder (IL-10), Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), and Bill Keating (MA-9).

Proposals to expand US trial courts and curb nationwide injunctions that a leading Republican lawmaker says are impeding President Donald Trump’s ability to carry out his agenda advanced out of the House Judiciary Committee.

The panel at a meeting on Wednesday approved Republican-led legislation to expand district courts over objections from Democrats, sending a revived measure adding more judges to the House floor after Joe Biden vetoed it last year.

WASHINGTON – Foreign officials that willfully violate the First Amendment rights of American citizens will face visa denial or deportation as a result of new legislation by Congressman Darrell Issa and his House colleagues, Congresswoman Maria Salazar (FL-27), and fellow Judiciary Committee colleagues Congressmen Michael Baumgartner (WA-5) and Brandon Gill (TX-26).

Rep. Issa has introduced a bill aimed at preventing federal judges from issuing nationwide injunctions with the sole purpose of derailing a president’s political agenda, which Issa says has been the case since President Donald Trump was sworn in. Nowhere in our Constitution is a single federal judge given absolute power over the President or the people of the United States.
