Congressman Issa Recognizes National School Choice Week

Washington, DC – Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) co-sponsored H.Res. 63 to declare January 26-February 1, 2025 as National School Choice Week.

The resolution, introduced by Congressman John Moolenar, declares the importance of parental choice in K-12 education in order for the individual needs of each student to be met both through public schools, public charters, public magnet schools, online options, private schools, and homeschool options.

2025 marks the 15^th anniversary of National School Choice Week. 

Background

Congressman Issa has been a strong voice for parents and families in the 48^th Congressional District. 

• Congressman Issa hosted a Parent and Educators Summit to listen empower these voices in federal policymaking.
• Congressman Issa is a member of the House School Choice Caucus.
• Issa introduced the Stand with Parents resolution, which was incorporated into H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights, which was approved by the House.
• Issa visited Joan MacQueen Middle School in Alpine to recognize educators for excellence.
