Congressman Issa Seeks US Military Academy Applicants - Deadline Oct 25
Escondido – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) announced that the deadline for high school students in the 48th Congressional District seeking nominations to the U.S. military academies for the Class of 2029 is October 25, 2024, at 4pm PT.
“Each year, it is a great honor to nominate esteemed young men and women to attend the U.S. military service academies,” said Rep Issa. “These students are the leaders of tomorrow who answer the call of their country and volunteer to stand in service to protect and defend America.”
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies:
- U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY;
- The U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD;
- The U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and
- The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY.
- The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
