Congressman Darrell Issa recently hosted a community roundtable with his constituents in Lakeside, CA to discuss leading policy priorities and address local concerns including public safety, agriculture, water resources, government regulation, and economic development.
“This wasn’t my first community meeting with the great people and extraordinary leaders of Lakeside —and it certainly won’t be my last,” said Rep. Issa. “Lakeside is a success because of the men and women who live here, work here, and make it great. I’m thankful for the opportunity to once again hear from this community on their top priorities.”
Local Lakeside leaders shared their takeaways from Rep. Issa’s visit and roundtable conversations:
“Lakeside is a beautifully tight-knit community because of the extraordinary people willing to go above and beyond their responsibility as a citizen. I want to thank Congressman Issa for spending time with many of those people today to hear about how he can continue to represent this community and how he can continue to best assist in addressing the challenges we may face,” said Frank Hilliker, Past President of the Lakeside Chamber of Commerce, Lakeside Water Board Member, and Vice-Chair of the San Diego County Water Authority.
“Our roundtable chat with Congressman Issa today was incredibly fruitful. "Lakeside is an amazing community where we value the soul of the American West and take pride our town, just as we do our country as a whole. You simply must be here to experience the history and character of the community along with the pride of those who call Lakeside home. That’s why I am so thankful Congressman Issa continues to meet with his constituents here in Lakeside to understand how he can best continue advocating for our community’s American dream in Congress,” said Sam McGovern, Esq.
