ICYMI – Issa joined by hundreds from San Diego community to welcome home Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Captain Royce Williams
SAN DIEGO, CA — Yesterday, Congressman Darrell Issa and hundreds of San Diego’s community welcomed home and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Captain E. Royce Williams – who is 100 years young. President Trump awarded Captain Williams our nation’s highest military honor at the State of the Union address on Tuesday.
“My friend, constituent, and lifelong hero Royce Williams is a Top Gun pilot like no other, an American hero for all time, and now, a recipient of the highest honor in the land,” said Rep. Issa. “I’m especially thankful to President Trump and the First Lady for recognizing the heroism and valor Royce demonstrated almost 70 years ago in the skies over the North Pacific and the coast of North Korea, for he truly understands and appreciates what makes Royce unique and how deserving he is of this honor.”
Captain Williams is the oldest Medal of Honor recipient in U.S. history. Read more about the Royce Williams homecoming and watch the event here.
