Issa Cosponsors Legislation to Enhance Aerial Firefighting Capabilities

Washington, DC - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) has cosponsored legislation introduced by California colleague Congressman David Valadao (CA-22) to improve aerial wildfire fighting capabilities.  Under the "Emergency Wildfire Fighting Technology Act" the newest aerial firefighting capabilities will be evaluated by the federal government and can be put into use to enhance rapid surge capabilities.

Congressman Issa's District, spanning East County San Diego and Southwest Riverside County, is rated as an extreme fire prone area. Including Cleveland National Forrest and the intersection of urban and rural landscape, ensuring the latest and most effective resources is essential for the communities.
