Issa Backed Provisions Included in House National Defense Authorization Act
Washington – Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) voted in favor of H.R. 2670, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, which fully funds our national defense while cutting waste and improving military efficiency.
The bill:
Provides the largest pay raise for servicemembers in 20 years
Puts the brakes on woke ideology in the military
Strengthens oversight and fiscal accountability
Makes meaningful investments in deterring CCP aggression
Creates a pathway back for servicemembers wrongfully kicked out of the military over the COVID Vaccine Mandate
Provides support for border security to secure U.S. borders and disrupt illicit drug trafficking.
The House-passed NDAA includes provisions championed by Congressman Issa:
Royce Williams
Upgrades the Navy Cross of San Diego’s CAPT E. Royce Williams (Ret.) to the Medal of Honor. Captain Williams bravely and selflessly engaged solo against seven Soviet-piloted MiG jets in a classified Korean War mission, downing five enemy jets, and saving the ship and its crew despite 263 holes and a foot-long gash inches away from destroying his craft.
Afghanistan
Helps bring accountability for the Biden Administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021 that resulted in the loss of 13 American servicemembers.
Iran – Russia Links
As the Biden Administration looks to revive the failed Iran nuclear deal, the amendment requires a report on nuclear cooperation between Iran and Russia, which could further Iran’s nuclear weapons program and help keep Russia’s nuclear industry afloat.
