Issa, Calvert Secure $50 Million for Riverside County Water Infrastructure
WASHINGTON – Today, the House approved S. 4367, which includes $50 million in additional water infrastructure funding requested by Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) and Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) for (area).
“Water is one of our most vital resources, and it must be managed responsibly to meet the needs of all our people whenever they need it.” said Rep. Issa. “This new infrastructure will also help deliver clean, reliable, and plentiful water to nearly one million western Riverside County residents, which is at once a significant win and critical step for our communities. Special thanks go to my friend Rep. Calvert for his leadership in securing this investment in our future.”
The funding will support the project authorization of USACE/EMWD South Perris Groundwater Desalination initiative, which is expected to advance the next series of raw water wells, improving water quality and drought-proofing the regional water supply.
