Issa: Investigate Reports of Terror Financing by Democrat Fundraising Platform ActBlue
Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48), Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Senior Member of the Judiciary Committee, urged the Trump Administration to investigate whether ActBlue and ActBlue Charities — an online progressive campaign fundraising platform and associated nonprofit — knowingly facilitated payments from groups linked to terrorism.
In a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Issa wrote: “Terror financing is an extremely serious crime, and organizations cannot be given a free pass for failed due diligence, or worse, the enabling of terrorism. I hope that the new leadership of the Treasury Department will carefully review this fundraising collaboration as well as what any funds raised ultimately supported to determine whether ActBlue or ActBlue Charities have violated relevant criminal statutes.”
Detailed public reporting has revealed that ActBlue Charities provided fundraising services to several terror tied groups, Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, the Alliance for Global Justice, and US Campaign for Palestinian Rights.
Issa led on this same issue dating back to September 2023, when he requested the Biden Treasury Department investigate wrongdoing uncovered by investigative journalist Gabe Kaminsky. Issa’s 2023 letter cited the reporting and added: “ActBlue’s charity platform has facilitated payments since at least 2021 for the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, a founding member of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions National Committee that is affiliated with entities designated by the United States as terrorist groups.”
Despite the reporting and the reasonable suspicion that the nation’s laws had been violated, the Biden-Harris Treasury Department refused to substantively address these explosive revelations. House Republicans are now leading multiple investigations across several Congressional committees to uncover the truth about ActBlue’s concerning activities.
