Statement by Congressman Issa Following Invasion of Ukraine

WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-50) issued the following statement after the invasion of Ukraine:

"This is a disastrous day for free nations everywhere and a direct assault by tyranny and aggression that will compel the world to take notice.
 
"This is also a defining moment for the Biden Administration, which has manifestly failed to bolster a coalition of allies and partners to keep and secure the peace. At this time, the credibility of this White House is on the line, and we need the kind of of leadership from the President that we clearly have yet to see.
 
"America should stand with Ukraine and its people in their hour of need. They are not alone in this fight. 
 
"America and NATO are being tested. And at this moment, they are failing that test."

Darrell Issa is the Representative of California’s 50th Congressional District. The District encompasses the central and northeastern parts of San Diego County and a portion of Riverside County, including the communities of Fallbrook, San Marcos, Valley Center, Ramona, Escondido, Santee, Lakeside, El Cajon, Temecula, and the mountain and desert areas of the San Diego-Imperial County line. Issa served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform from 2011-2015.
