For nearly 60 years, Lakeside has gathered as a community for a patriotic, historical and fun weekend of festivities. Lakeside schools, small-businesses, families, and elected offices gather to celebrate this unique patriotic community remembering its storied history and celebrating the success of today.

Washington, DC - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) is an original cosponsor of Speaker Kevin McCarthy's Save Our Sequoias (SOS) Act.  This legislation would improve forest management practices at the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service to expedite fire protection measures in California lands where Giant Sequoias grow.

Giant Sequoias are the largest trees on Earth and solely found in roughly 70 groves across 37,000 acres in California. Action is needed to further protect these iconic trees against the threat of wildfire.

Congressman Issa introduced the Jax Act, which will amend the military records of women veterans deployed alongside Special Forces soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq – but were never recognized for their service. The Issa bill will correct the denial of rank, benefits, and critical health care services for these service members.

Representatives Dave Joyce (OH-14), Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Laurel Lee (FL-15), Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-3) joined Congressman Issa as original cosponsors to this legislation.
