Escondido - Following a visit yesterday to the California-Mexico border region of his district, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48), Senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, requested a classified briefing on the national security threats posed by the dramatic increase of illegal migrants from special interest nations entering the country through our open southern border.

Jacumba – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) gave this statement following a visit he led to the southern border in Jacumba, CA:

“Biden’s border crisis is what happens when you change policies that are working and insist upon what has failed every time.

"Biden has surrendered our sovereignty and is letting foreign governments — many that are hostile to our national interest — decide who gets to cross our borders, break our laws, and remain in our country.

Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) offered the following remarks on the House floor in support of the resolution to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:
 
“The Secretary is being impeached for what he did wrong. He is, in fact, guilty as alleged, but he is just part of the high crimes and misdemeanors of the President of the United States.
 

Washington – This week, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) voted in favor of four bills supporting the rule of law and a strong border.
 
“We must secure the border and enforce the immigration laws on the books right now. These bills approved by the House this week are essential to closing loopholes in the current law, leaving no ambiguity for the consequences individuals should face when acting in dangerous and harmful conduct,” said Rep. Issa.

Following a comprehensive tour of the San Diego region’s southern border yesterday alongside mayors and other local leaders representing San Diego and Riverside Counties, Congressman Issa (CA-48) released this statement: 

"I convened a tour of our southern border for the mayors of our region because it is vital that everyone at all levels of government realize what is happening there.

“The collapse of America’s southern border is the national security crisis of our time. And it is the fault of Joe Biden – and Joe Biden alone.

"There is no disputing that Sec. Mayorkas has failed to faithfully carry out his duties and refused to uphold the oath he swore to uphold.
 
And it is no excuse that he is carrying out the policies of a president who betrayed our border patrol, made a mockery of our border laws, escorted millions of illegals to every corner of the country, and opened a gateway for unprecedented deadly fentanyl that has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.
