Washington, DC - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) has cosponsored legislation introduced by California colleague Congressman David Valadao (CA-22) to improve aerial wildfire fighting capabilities.  Under the "Emergency Wildfire Fighting Technology Act" the newest aerial firefighting capabilities will be evaluated by the federal government and can be put into use to enhance rapid surge capabilities.

Border Patrol agents arrested an Afghan national on the FBI’s terror watchlist after he crossed into the U.S. illegally Wednesday in California, multiple sources at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told Fox News. Rep. Issa who represents the district where the arrest was made, told Fox News the Biden administration’s border policies attract terrorists.

Congressman Issa sent a letter Wednesday to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Inspector General to request the agency investigate findings by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, displaying current employees of the spy agency “[advancing] partisan political interests” of the Biden campaign in the lead-up to the 2020 election. Issa’s letter requests the IG investigate violations of laws prohibiting executive branch officials, namely law enforcement and national security agency employees, from participating in political activity.

Washington, DC - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) is an original cosponsor of Speaker Kevin McCarthy's Save Our Sequoias (SOS) Act.  This legislation would improve forest management practices at the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service to expedite fire protection measures in California lands where Giant Sequoias grow.

Giant Sequoias are the largest trees on Earth and solely found in roughly 70 groves across 37,000 acres in California. Action is needed to further protect these iconic trees against the threat of wildfire.
