Ramona – On August 24, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) joined a community-wide celebration like no other: the Ramona Rodeo. This annual gathering is a celebration of the city’s indomitable Western heritage and the unique character of rodeo.

Congressman Issa toured the festival grounds and participated in festivities with event vendors, while also sharing with attendees his ongoing efforts to protect and honor rodeo.

ARLINGTON – On the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing in Afghanistan that claimed the lives of 13 American servicemembers, Congressman Darell Issa (CA-48) participated in wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery at the invitation of the Gold Star families of the fallen. Attending the ceremony alongside Issa were President Donald Trump and House colleagues (as well as fellow veterans) Brian Mast (FL-21), Cory Mills (FL-07), and Mike Waltz (FL-06). 
 

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) and House Republican Conference Chair Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21) introduced the Modern Firearm Safety Act which will stop states from enacting unconstitutional “handgun rosters” that prevent law-abiding citizens from accessing modern, safer handgun models.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet, introduced a discussion draft of the Preventing Abuse of Digital Replicas Act (PADRA), landmark legislation to protect the voice, image, and likeness of individuals from being used in unauthorized commercial ways.

Washington – The U.S. Embassy in Beirut has issued a Security Alert for Americans currently in Lebanon who wish to depart the country. On Thursday, July 31, the embassy also raised the Travel Advisory for Lebanon to “Level 4: Do Not Travel” (the highest warning level) for the entire country.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) joined Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) and 20 House colleagues in sending a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines requesting answers on Iranian funding of anti-Israel protests in the United States, following testimony by Director Haines that Iran is funding anti-Israel protests in the U.S.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48), Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09), and Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) have introduced the Freedom from Unfair Gun Taxes Act which prohibits states from implementing excise taxes on firearms and ammunition to fund gun control programs.
