Exclusive: Stefanik, Issa Introduce Bill Fighting Anti-Second Amendment Laws in New York, California

Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Darrell Issa (R-CA) reintroduced the Modern Firearm Safety Act to prohibit states like New York and California from enacting anti-Second Amendment laws disguised as gun safety.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— This week, Congressman Issa welcomed high school students from Riverside County and southern California chapters, representing the FFA (National Future Farmers of America) and over one million California FFA students. 

The students brought enthusiasm and energy for agriculture education and discussed developing the next generation of leaders in the food and agriculture space.  

WASHINGTON, DC— This week, the Office of Congressman Darrell Issa welcomed employees of Home Depot stores from across southern California. The group discussed the importance of recent tax relief approved in the One Big Beautiful Bill and the need for continued focus to stop rampant retail theft. 

WASHINGTON, DC— This week, the Office of Congressman Darrell Issa met with high school robotics teams from Poway in California’s 48^th congressional district: Team Spyder 1622 (Poway High School) and Team Optix 3749 (Del Norte High School), representing the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA). 

The teams are entirely student-run and are dedicated to involving community youth in STEM education. 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, Congressman Issa spoke at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Expo, where he discussed innovative electrical products and how they contribute to high-performance buildings across the U.S. 

A California lawmaker has introduced a bill that could pave the way for troops and veterans to receive the Medal of Honor many years after their heroic acts.

WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Issa recently met with the Congressional Award Gold Medalists from California’s 48^th District: Evan Bohne of Poway and Matthew DeWitt of Temecula. 

“Evan and Matthew are special people with the potential and smarts to match, said Rep. Issa. "During our meeting, I congratulated both of them on this great achievement and let them know they are part of a great legacy of young leaders in our district who earned this distinction as well.”   

This week, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) joined the City of Temecula and Southwest Riverside community members in celebrating the completion of Phase II of the I15/215 French Valley Parkway interchange project. 

Phase II project completion will result in smoother, faster transit for community members and is the result of years of work of the City of Temecula, Congressman Issa, Congressman Ken Calvert, the Trump Administration’s funding support, and regional and state partners.
