Temecula, CA – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) announced that Murrieta Canyon Academy senior Hallie Maronde is the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 48th District. Hallie’s winning entry is entitled “Sketchy Tune,” which was drawn using graphite pencils.

Washington, DC – Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) and Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) issued the following statement as the Biden State Department continues to defy a Congressional subpoena and refuse to provide a report proving that the Biden Administration ignored warnings that its Afghanistan policy was an impending disaster. Washington, DC - Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) has cosponsored legislation introduced by California colleague Congressman David Valadao (CA-22) to improve aerial wildfire fighting capabilities. Under the "Emergency Wildfire Fighting Technology Act" the newest aerial firefighting capabilities will be evaluated by the federal government and can be put into use to enhance rapid surge capabilities.
