WASHINGTON, D.C.— This week, Congressman Issa welcomed high school students from Riverside County and southern California chapters, representing the FFA (National Future Farmers of America) and over one million California FFA students.
The students brought enthusiasm and energy for agriculture education and discussed developing the next generation of leaders in the food and agriculture space.

WASHINGTON, DC— This week, the Office of Congressman Darrell Issa met with high school robotics teams from Poway in California’s 48th congressional district: Team Spyder 1622 (Poway High School) and Team Optix 3749 (Del Norte High School), representing the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA).
The teams are entirely student-run and are dedicated to involving community youth in STEM education.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) announced that Murrieta Valley High School student Connor Main is the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 48th District. Connor’s winning entry is entitled The Dire Wolf.

Escondido – Today, Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) announced that the deadline for high school students in the 48th Congressional District seeking nominations to the U.S. military academies for the Class of 2029 is October 25, 2024, at 4pm PT.
“Each year, it is a great honor to nominate esteemed young men and women to attend the U.S. military service academies,” said Rep Issa. “These students are the leaders of tomorrow who answer the call of their country and volunteer to stand in service to protect and defend America.”
